Implant Supported Dentures Prosthodontic Case: Loye (before and after)

A complete denture is indicated for the replacement of all the natural teeth while providing support for the cheeks and lips. Well constructed dentures will also provide chewing efficiency and facilitate normal speech. However, compared to natural teeth, conventional dentures limit chewing efficiency and become less retentive and stable as the underlying tissue (bone) continues to recede (atrophy).

In this situation, dental implants can be placed in the jaw bone, then restored with mechanical attachments. These will not only significantly improve the retention, stability and comfort of the denture, but also minimize any additional shrinkage (atrophy) of the bone. Prosthodontists undergo extensive post-graduate training to provide the best possible results with dentures.
